Concurrent with the release of the first IBM PC, he developed an integrated specialized accounting program for law offices and formed VertiSoft Company to market and distribute the software. From its success, the company was sold in 1996 and realizing an opportunity in funeral service in Saline, Michigan.
Ladd is currently instructing in law, anatomy, history, forensic investigation and serves on national committees (mortuary science) and on several college committees.
